vacation is over

While I love vacation, it is always hard to see them come to an end.  We had a great time visiting family and friends, discovery museum and the beach. I'll catch up with you this week about all the fun we had - in the meantime, I'll be catching up with the laundry and grocery shopping.  Hope you have a blessed day. :)

snickerdoodle pie

Aunt Elaine made a snicker-doodle pie. Low fat, low sugar, totally delicious pie, and it's easy to make too.  1 low fat graham cracker crust, 1 cup low fat cool whip, 1 sm. pkg. sugar free low fat choc. pudding, 3 T crunchy pb, 12 oz. low fat vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.  Stir ingredients and put in crust.  She cuts the pie after 3-4 hours in the freezer to make it easier to serve.   Brilliant idea. 
Keep frozen and serve with a dollop of cool whip.

fireworks

It was fun watching the neighborhood fireworks with my sister-in-law on her back deck.  While we couldn't see all of them we were able to see some and celebrate our country's independence.  The other night, my sister got sparklers for the girls and they loved those, but Betsy really did not like the fireworks that were set off.  So, we waited until after bedtime to enjoy the "show." I hope you got to take in some fireworks and eat a hotdog/burger and just have some down time with your family as we celebrate our many freedoms and blessings.  Happy 4th of July.

the little table

We have a little table that sits behind the couch in the living room.  I have been letting Mollie color back there and she has been doing a great job.  Or so I thought.  This morning, she asked to color and I noticed that she has not only been making beautiful creations on paper but on the blinds as well. Arrgh. So, I am going to get out the magic eraser and get to work on removing the "art".  Well, she does like to color, I just have to make sure she is in a more supervised locale-like the kitchen table.  Hope your day is great.  Blessings.

car time

My little family is going on vacation soon. I am getting excited.  We are going to visit family, see Savannah, and drive.  I have a few books from the library already in the van (several for the girls and a couple on cd for Andy and I). I need to gather a few more before our departure as well as sing along cd's for the girls.  It's going to be fun, but there will be some long stretches in the car.  So any ideas to occupy a 2.5 yr. old and a 16 month old, be sure to pass them my way. Thanks.

money mutual

Yesterday, Mollie asked me if I needed the money mutual.  At first, I had a hard time grasping what she said.  Money Mutual??? What in the world?  I finally figured it out.  It is a commercial.  The kid doesn't even watch that much t.v. but Maisy airs 2 episodes then a long commercial set and 2 additional episodes.  One day, they aired a product to help you make slushies in their specially designed cup.  "Mom, we need that," says Mollie.  I think I'm going to have to mute the commercials or turn the t.v. off for a 10 min.  Or I'm going to be bombarded with many more requests.  Have a great Wednesday.
