perfumes

Andy's sister left her perfume at our house. The name of it is Light Blue.  It smells nice and I like it, but it makes for a funny sentence.  You forgot your light blue here.  ???  LOL Then I was thinking most cologne and perfume names are like that. Sunflowers, Passion, Red Door, Boss, Axe,  etc.  Hope you have a great long weekend and find things that make you smile.  Blessings.

the sprinkler party

We had some friends over for lunch and play time.  The kids had a blast.  The adults did too.  Blessings.

CPAAA

Last night we attended a graduation of sorts for Andy's dad.  He completed a 12 week course with the Citinzen's Police Academy Alumni Association.  It was fun to see the comradery of those in the force as well as those completing the course.  They really are Lexington's finest.  The course is designed for citizens to become more familiar with the police force and the different departments and their respective responsibilities.  I think Andy would love to do it as well.  We had a nice time with Baba, Grandma, and a host of other folks.  A pot luck dinner was served, which was a double bonus for me.  I made mac and cheese and got an amazing dinner for my family. The highlight of the food table was a cake in the shape of hand cuffs.  It was really funny.   :)  Blessings.

Windy Corners

Andy took me on a date to a little deli/restaurant called Windy Corners.  It was nice to be with him on the drive through the country.  We sat on the covered back porch and ate our po' boys.  Then, the rain started coming down in sheets.  We got some dessert as we waited on the storm to blow by.  That was a nice treat too.  The rain passed as we were driving home to a clean kitchen and happy girls. Blessings.

family weekend

Andy's family was in this weekend.  It was so much fun hosting them.  The babies are getting bigger and more interactive. The girls enjoy playing together.  It makes for a fun weekend. I am already looking forward to our next family gathering in September, if not before.  Andy and I were talking this morning about how our times together have changed.  We play with the kids more and each other less, but we do have time for some cards/games once the littles are in bed.  All in all, it was a wonderful time together.  Blessings.

Armed Forces Day

I didn't realize that today was Armed Forces Day.  I am so thankful for our soldiers who serve to protect our freedoms. I am grateful to them for their time and sacrifice. I hope the men and women who serve(d) in our armed forces feel extra appreciated on this day. Blessings.

packing

We are getting ready to head south for a week.  I am excited about the trip to Destin.  It's going to be a lot of fun.  I think the Gulf waters will be calmer than the Atlantic, so maybe the girls will enjoy the ocean as well as the sand this summer.  I am already getting some things packed.  Toys and books that I want them to use in the van, beach toys, dvd's and cd's.  The anticipation is building in me already. Blessings.

library maintenance

Our library will be closed for maintenance tomorrow.  I think it will be a good time for us to explore another branch in the system.  The girls love books, I've been over our limit (35) twice already in the past couple of months.  I am raising readers that is for sure.  Mollie is already spelling out words with a little help.  I am almost positive she will be reading by her birthday. She already "reads" books anyway.  The only downside about visiting another branch - the girls won't get to see Mrs. Abby or Mrs. Katie.  We just love our librarians. Blessings.

spring cold

Poor Betsy she has been coughing and has a runny nose.  It is worse at night making sleep hard for Andy and myself as well.  Mollie, thankfully, sleeps through the episodes.  Last night, we gave her some cough syrup.  It helped after a time, but I think we will all need naps today.  Blessings.

Hens and chicks

Hens and chicks
I asked for some succulents for mother's day and Andy delivered.  He also got me some cut flowers, a zinnia, did some yard work and planted these hens and chicks. We had lunch at the #1 China buffet (plan b because the wait at Outback was 1+ hours).  It was such a fantastic day.  Blessings.
Pristine yard and 2 of the sweetest girls I know.

Zinnia

Carnations from #1 China buffet and some clover from Mollie

Mollie signed her card with all the letters in order!  Dad helped Betsy with her signature. :)

A smattering of cards.

Cut flowers from my love.

At the Feet of the Master

The ballet went very well.  We had a great time watching our little flower dance as well as all of the other girls.  It was a beautiful story told through dance.  Blessings.

recital

Tonight is the night.  I will try to get some pictures on here tomorrow.  In the meantime, I need to bake 3 dozen cookies and make up some punch for the cookie reception between the shows.  Shew another busy day ahead.  Still trying to do all things in Jesus strength not my own.  Blessings.

dress rehearsal

Tonight is dress rehearsal for Mollie.  She will have to have her hair pinned back (I doubt it will go in a bun!) and wear make up.  She is beyond excited about all of that.  I am thankful there will be ladies there to help out with all of it.  It's helping keep my stress at bay.  Blessings.

busy busy busy

I have not had much time at all for blogging today, and it's not looking good for the rest of the week.  There are some stretches of days like that though.  Busier than usual.  Mollie is dancing in a ballet this Friday and Saturday.  The ballet is going to be the story of Martha and Mary.  It is good for me to be reminded not to be too busy to sit at the feet of Jesus.  Truly it is the better choice.  Blessings.

super moon

The other night on the way home from Louisville, the moon loomed larger than life over the interstate.  It was magnificent.  Truly.  Of course, it was impossible to get a picture of it from the van, but I did try.  Andy actually stopped to take one too.  I only wish the pictures were as impressive as the moon that night.  Blessings.

Nana

We spent the day in Louisville yesterday with Andy's grandmother who turns 85 today.  She is such a sweet Christian. Kind and generous, full of love for the Lord and her family.  It was so good spending time with her, getting to know her better, growing to love her more. I really enjoyed listening to her stories of when she was young and the travels that she's gone on.  She is lovely inside and out.  I want to be like her when I grow old.  Blessings.

clover

Mollie loves flowers.  Every day, she picks handfuls to bring inside.  Right now, I have a bouquet of clover flowers on the counter which replaced the dandelions.  They make me smile.  Blessings.

sprinkler time

The girls had a great time running through the sprinkler yesterday.  It will be more of the same around here today.  Blessings.

87 degrees

It is summer time hot out today, so I had Andy set up the sprinkler.  I am hoping the girls enjoy the experience.  I will try to get some pictures of them playing later today.  Loving this weather, but hoping summer won't be unbearable.  Blessings.

covered bridge

While in Brown Co. In, Drew took us on a road that hosts a covered bridge.  It was a beautiful drive.  Can't wait to do it again another day.  Blessings.
