Complaining and grumbling - when we feel self pity we think that we deserve something different. The Lord wants to transform us into his image.  The Lord chooses our service in order to transform us.  He has created for us good works which he has prepared for us in advance (Eph. 2:10).  It's easy to serve the Lord doing what we love (singing in the choir, playing an instrument, teaching Sunday school).  Please don't limit yourself  before the Lord.  He is interested in changing our minds so he can form Christ in us. It's not enough to wish to do something or to think about it, you must die to yourself.  The Lord will give you strength.  People remember how you serve them even if they forget your words.  Blessings.
